This is the Blackpool Brass Band Website. For those that do not know what Brass Band music is let us explain it in more detail to you.
A brass band is a musical group that consists of brass instruments only. They are used with a percussion section. The British style brass band is a group of brass and percussion instruments.
There are many competitions all around Britain for Brass bands. That is what this site is about. The various competitions that take place in Blackpool.

British brass banding is very competitive with bands that get organized into five different sections kind of like a football league. They consist of:
- Championship section
- 1st section
- 2nd section
- 3rd Section
- 4th Section.
They are held throughout the year at various local, national, and regional levels. At the national level the main contest is the National Brass Band Championship, this will determine which section the band is in. The bands are then awarded points for the results.
